This is a review directed toward the new Cold album - A Different Kind of Pain. Great Cd. You can clearly see the track record of cold...Three cds and overall makes you feel like you got in a fight with them. The first Cd (13 Ways to Bleed On Stage) was a good one. It started off the "figurative" fight off with talking trash about your mother...you got a little angry and started swinging a little bit...after a little skirmish, Cold had taken control of the fight and was slapping you around a bit. Second stage of the fight, second cd. With the release of Year of the Spider...The fight had come underway and both were swinging furiously. You put up the "Tyson Tomko Boot of Justice" and COLD saw it, ducked it, got behind you and when you turned and swung at it again...COLD was waiting...And they proceeded to rip the heart right out of your chest with great vocals and powerful music. A bit heavier...and a bit better...this brings us to the final stage of the fight. Third cd, A Different Kind of Pain, and the end of the fight. This one is just about you. After ripping your heart out of your chest, they took a bite and threw it on the ground. All you could do was sit down and think about what had just happened. You are starring at your heart laying there on the ground. This cd is a bit more contemplative. The great music is still there. It is subdued a little bit letting the piercing lyrics come through. It's a good feeling. You know the better in the fight has won. You pleasantly pick up your heart, jam it back in your chest, and take a couple steps...I mean, for god sake's did you think you were going to survive that? I mean, you just had your heart ripped out. You just lie on the ground hoping that you will get to hear their next release in Hell. I'm sure it's going to be a great cd!

I would really recommend going out and buying this cd. It's one of the better cds I have now. It's a great cd for just listening to music and thinking about different stuff going on in your life. The lyrics really speak to everyone I think. Yes, the drummer still scares the hell out of me. You really need to go pick up this album!
